Iran (IMNA) - Speaking at a ceremony held by the Turkish Embassy in Tehran to mark Turkey’s Republic Day, Zahra Behrouz-Azar, Iran’s Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, congratulated Ankara on its national day and highlighted the two countries’ “deep-rooted historical, cultural, and religious ties.”
Behrouz-Azar said that Tehran and Ankara have always maintained close and respectful relations, expressing hope that bilateral cooperation would further expand in economic, cultural, scientific, and social fields.
“Iran and Turkey can play an effective role in connecting East and West and in reinforcing regional economic linkages by strengthening their rail infrastructure,” she said.
The official noted that expanding railway capacity, completing joint rail projects, and easing freight transit between the two countries would serve not only their mutual interests but also those of other regional nations.
Behrouz-Azar also underscored the significance of cultural collaboration, pointing to the vast potential of both countries in culture and art. She said these shared capacities could help lay the foundation for “deep and lasting cooperation for future generations.”
