Iran Rejects Any Trust in Talks with US, Citing Past Hybrid Warfare Threats

Iran’s Intelligence Minister Esmaeil Khatib has stated that the Islamic Republic has no confidence in securing the country’s national interests through negotiations with the United States.

Iran (IMNA) - “We have no trust in any negotiation with America that claims to secure our national interests,” Khatib said during a meeting in the western province of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari on Wednesday.

The minister asserted that Washington’s purported intentions of engaging in talks with Iran conceal its “hostility towards the Iranian nation.” He pointed to extensive efforts by the US, Israel, and other adversaries to destabilize and disintegrate Iran during the 12-day war imposed by Washington and Tel Aviv in June.

Khatib highlighted that the unprovoked aggression was preceded by years of attempts to isolate Iran through widespread propaganda, turning global opinion against the country, and undermining public confidence in the Islamic Revolution.

During the conflict, adversaries sought to carry out a comprehensive hybrid operation using advanced Western technologies and modern warfare strategies, the minister added. The preparations included joint drills, organizing counterrevolutionary elements, reviving terrorist networks, and mobilizing international media to propagate Iranophobia and Shiaphobia.

The minister also noted that plans involved sending Takfiri terrorists released from Syria and Afghanistan into Iran, with more than 50 foreign intelligence services contributing to these hostile measures.

Khatib emphasized that such actions, along with similar attacks by Israel with US backing in Gaza and Lebanon, expose the true meaning of the so-called “peace through strength” doctrine, which he described as “submission through crime.”

Despite these threats, Khatib praised the strategic leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the effective defensive and retaliatory operations conducted by Iran’s Armed Forces, and the strong national unity that helped foil the hybrid warfare strategies.
