Iranian President Affirms Commitment to Muslim Unity, Rejects Conflicts

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that Iran will not engage in disputes with any Muslim country and remains fully dedicated to fostering unity across the Muslim world. Speaking at the 39th Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran on Monday, Pezeshkian stressed that no external power can defeat Muslims when they stand united and uphold justice.

Iran (IMNA) - The president highlighted that division among Muslims enables Zionist forces to commit atrocities, particularly in Gaza and the wider region. He expressed hopes that gatherings like the Tehran conference would dismantle barriers of division and promote cohesion.

Criticizing the West, Pezeshkian accused Western nations of hypocrisy, stating they wrongfully accuse Iran of human rights violations while themselves perpetrating genocidal acts against vulnerable groups including children, women, and the elderly. He condemned Western interference as a tactic to fuel conflicts among Muslim countries to profit from arms sales.

Reflecting on recent hostilities, Pezeshkian said that the 12-day war imposed by the US and Israel failed to achieve its objectives due to Iran’s unity and strong defense forces. He credited Iran’s missiles and armed forces with striking severe blows to the enemy but emphasized that the nation’s cohesion delivered the most decisive impact, deterring aggression and reinforcing resistance to oppression.

President Pezeshkian also thanked Muslim nations for their solid condemnation of Israeli crimes and urged continued efforts to strengthen solidarity among Muslim countries.

The conflict began on June 13 when Israel launched an illegal attack against Iran resulting in the killing of senior commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. Iran swiftly retaliated with missile and drone strikes and conducted further operations under “True Promise III.” The US escalated the conflict on June 22 by bombing Iranian nuclear sites, prompting Iran to strike the US Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar in self-defense. The hostilities ended with a truce on June 24 after Israel’s acceptance of the ceasefire.
