Iran (IMNA) - Araghchi met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s prime minister and foreign minister, following the June 23 missile operation, codenamed “Tidings of Victory,” which targeted Al Udeid Air Base in response to US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.
Araghchi conveyed President Masoud Pezeshkian’s oral message to the Emir of Qatar, calling the encounter "very important and influential." He emphasized that the meetings “completely resolved” the previous misunderstandings stemming from the missile operation, affirming that bilateral relations remain strong and free of disputes.
The talks extended beyond immediate concerns to broader regional stability, focusing especially on restarting dialogue among regional countries to ensure security and cooperation against the expansionism of the Israeli regime and its attacks on neighboring states. The Iranian foreign minister also reviewed Iran’s nuclear file in detail with the Emir, noting Qatar’s valuable perspectives and useful consultations during the visit.
In addition to Qatari officials, Araghchi met with Hamas political bureau members in Doha, reaffirming Iran’s support for the Palestinian people’s “legitimate resistance against Israeli occupation.” He also held discussions with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, urging Europe to uphold its commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA) and counter US actions threatening diplomacy.
Araghchi summarized the outcomes by stating that the misunderstandings are now completely removed through this trip, signaling a restored and strengthened relationship between Iran and Qatar.
