Iran (IMNA) - Ahead of his departure to China for the summit, President Pezeshkian highlighted that the meeting aims to strengthen cooperation and counteract the unilateralism and hegemony practiced by the United States and certain European nations. He emphasized the potential to elevate engagement among member states and other countries through discussions involving presidents and prime ministers.
The summit will see participation from main and observer members, providing a crucial platform to align perspectives across scientific, cultural, economic, political, and security fields. Pezeshkian noted that these talks offer significant opportunities for mutual assistance and closer collaboration.
The President further stressed that the SCO summit will enhance interactions across various sectors among member and observer countries, with planned meetings including discussions with the President of China and other officials attending the event.
Pezeshkian expressed optimism that the outcomes of the summit will contribute positively to regional and global peace, security, and the development of relations, benefiting the welfare of peoples in the region and worldwide.
