Iran (IMNA) - During his visit to Belarus, he met with Iranians living there and expressed his happiness to be among compatriots, highlighting the value of such gatherings in strengthening emotional and identity ties.
President Pezeshkian stated that the Islamic Republic seeks peaceful coexistence with all nations; however, world powers oppose Iran’s path to growth and prosperity. He praised Iran’s unity and cohesion as a major achievement that remains strong despite external pressures.
Reaffirming Iran’s principled commitment to peace and opposition to arms races, Pezeshkian stressed that Iranian authorities have consistently declared they do not seek weapons. Their primary goals are national unity and fostering regional harmony.
Addressing the U.S. maximum pressure policies, he said that the U.S. and its allies wrongly assume that isolating Iran would cause its people to starve. Instead, the Iranian nation will continue to endure through self-reliance and resilience.
He described Iran’s defensive capabilities as crucial deterrents, explaining that without them, Iran would face attacks similar to daily bombardments experienced by the people of Gaza. Pezeshkian accused the Israeli regime, supported by the U.S. and Europe, of attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities, actions they could not have carried out without such backing.
Highlighting the humanitarian crisis caused by Israeli actions, he noted that nearly 60,000 Palestinians have been killed. Despite this, he predicted a brighter future for Iran, much to the frustration of its enemies, and called for cooperation among all citizens and intellectuals to achieve genuine independence and national pride.
