Iranian, Armenian Leaders Sign Joint Statement and 10 Cooperation Agreements to Boost Bilateral Ties

High-ranking officials from Iran and Armenia signed a joint statement along with ten cooperation documents across various sectors on Tuesday, aiming to enhance political, economic, industrial, scientific, cultural, construction, tourism, and handicraft collaborations between the two nations.

Iran (IMNA) - The agreements were signed during a ceremony in Yerevan in the presence of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The cooperation documents cover a wide range of fields, including political, social, cultural, tourism, industrial, educational, road and urban development, art, and health sectors.

Earlier on Tuesday, Pezeshkian was officially welcomed at the presidential palace in Yerevan by Pashinyan. The welcoming ceremony featured the national anthems of both countries and formal introductions of the delegations before bilateral talks commenced.

President Pezeshkian arrived in Armenia on Monday, leading a high-level delegation as the first leg of an official trip that will also take him to Belarus. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with Armenia’s leadership, Iranian expatriates, and economic representatives. The visit will culminate with the signing of documents to further expand cooperation between the two countries.

Before departing, President Pezeshkian emphasized that strengthening ties with neighbors and allies remains one of Iran’s top priorities.
