Iran (IMNA) - The statement was issued on Sunday to commemorate the anniversary of the return of liberated prisoners from the eight-year war imposed by Iraq’s former dictator Saddam Hussein in the 1980s.
In its official statement, the IRGC declared, “Today, the Iranian nation, standing at the height of experience, faith, and multiplied strength, is prepared to crush any enemy front and any malicious plan against the security and future of its land.” The organization praised the former prisoners of war as “the true symbols of active resistance and strategic hope,” noting their victory over adversaries during the conflict as emblematic of the nation’s strength.
The IRGC highlighted recent successes, including the Iranian Armed Forces compelling Iraqi forces to withdraw amid strong public support, and forcing the Israeli regime to request a ceasefire on June 24, despite unprecedented American support for the 12-day aggression. The statement attributed these outcomes to “the power of faith, national unity, and revolutionary steadfastness” that “can bring the biggest war machines and imperialist policies to their knees.”
The Corps also underscored the continuing resilience of the Palestinian resistance and the repeated defeats faced by the Zionist regime and its American allies throughout the West Asia region. Reaffirming its unwavering commitment, the IRGC stated its allegiance to the ideals of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and the Iranian nation.
Concluding its remarks, the IRGC projected the eventual “liberation of the regional peoples from Western-backed Israeli occupation and American military adventurism,” envisioning an expansion of resistance throughout the Islamic world and the realization of “ultimate triumph for the global Islamic Ummah.”
