Iranian President Pezeshkian Honors Journalists as Voices of Oppressed Amid Israeli Aggression

On National Journalist Day, President Masoud Pezeshkian praised Iranian journalists for being the voice of the oppressed during the Israeli aggression in June. During his visit to IRIB’s News Network, which was targeted in the 12-day war, Pezeshkian stated, “We have highly aware journalists who bring the voice of the oppressed people under the Israeli aggression to the world.”

Iran (IMNA) - He emphasized that the media can clearly, transparently, and explicitly highlight differences. Throughout the war waged by the Israeli regime and the US, national media played a unifying role, fostering solidarity and comprehensive defense by the Iranian nation.

The president pointed out that the Israeli regime, under US guidance and support, attacked Iran to advance America’s objectives. The enemies aimed to create chaos in Iran through blind attacks and assassinations targeting military commanders, scientists, and defenseless civilians. Nevertheless, he said, “The nation’s presence and resistance led to victory in this battle.”

Beginning on June 13, the Zionist regime launched a 12-day war of aggression against Iran, targeting military, nuclear, and residential areas. On June 22, the US attacked three Iranian nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.

In response, Iranian military forces launched powerful counterattacks immediately. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force carried out 22 waves of missile strikes against the Zionist regime in Operation True Promise III, inflicting heavy losses across the occupied territories. Additionally, Iranian forces struck the al-Udeid air base in Qatar—America’s largest military base in West Asia—in retaliation for the US attacks.

The conflict ceased on June 24 when a ceasefire took effect, bringing the fighting to a halt.
