Iran (IMNA) - Al-Mashhadani made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation from Iran’s Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Committee. He congratulated the Islamic Republic of Iran on its "great victory" against the Zionist regime.
Referring to the 12-day war, al-Mashhadani contrasted the experiences of the two populations, noting that while Israelis took refuge in shelters living in fear, the Iranian people maintained normal daily lives and even mocked the Israeli regime from their rooftops.
The Iraqi speaker emphasized the close ties between Iraq and Iran, describing the Iranian people as a source of pride for Iraqis and underlining the common policies and interests shared by the neighboring countries. He stated that Iraq would stand by Iran if it were ever invaded.
Al-Mashhadani also highlighted Iran’s respected role in helping liberate Iraq from the terrorist group ISIL and called for enhanced cooperation and stronger solidarity among Islamic countries.
