Saudi Arabia, Iran Seek Enhanced Cooperation Amid Regional Tensions

In a high-level meeting on Tuesday evening, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman discussed the latest developments in the region, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic solutions and cooperation.

Iran (IMNA) - During their talks, both leaders reviewed the status and trajectory of bilateral relations. Araghchi reiterated Iran’s commitment to strengthening ties with Saudi Arabia and other neighboring countries, focusing on mutual interests and good neighborliness. He expressed Iran’s readiness to expand relations across various economic, commercial, and cultural fields.

Araghchi also expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s responsible stance in condemning military aggression against Iran. He outlined Iran’s perspective on the regional security situation, particularly in light of recent military attacks by external forces, which he described as violations of the UN Charter and international law. He stressed that these actions pose unprecedented threats to regional peace and stability, calling for a united stance among regional countries to counteract expansionism and aggression.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed satisfaction with the growing understanding and cooperation between the two nations. He affirmed Saudi Arabia's determination to continue this path and expand relations in all areas. The Crown Prince reiterated Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of military aggression against Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, emphasizing that regional peace and security depend on cooperation and dialogue among states. He stated that Saudi Arabia will utilize all its capacities to prevent further insecurity and promote diplomatic solutions, expressing readiness to assist in this endeavor.
