Death Toll Rises to 627 in Israeli Airstrikes Across Iran, Thousands Injured

At least 627 people have been killed and 4,870 others injured in Israeli airstrikes across Iran, according to Hossein Kermanpour, head of public relations at Iran’s Health Ministry, who announced the figures on the social media platform X on Wednesday.

Iran (IMNA) - The highest number of casualties occurred in the capital Tehran and Kermanshah in Western Iran. Other heavily affected provinces, ranked third to tenth in casualties, include Khuzestan, Lorestan, Isfahan, Markazi, East Azarbaijan, Hamedan, Zanjan, and Gilan.

Kermanpour noted that 86.1% of those martyred died instantly at the scene of the strikes, while 13.9% succumbed en route to or upon arrival at hospitals, highlighting the devastating impact of the blasts, debris, and fires.

Israel initiated an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on June 13, targeting top military commanders and nuclear scientists, and bombing nuclear, military, civilian infrastructure, and residential buildings in Tehran and other provinces. In response, the Iranian Armed Forces launched waves of retaliatory missile strikes deep inside the occupied territories, leading the Israeli regime to cease fire after 12 days.
