Iran (IMNA) - This follows consultations after five rounds of talks since April 12. Baghaei stated that Iran will soon present a counter-proposal to the U.S. through Oman, because the U.S. offer was "unacceptable". He added that the U.S. proposal doesn't align with the outcomes of previous negotiation rounds.
Baghaei stressed that any proposal failing to respect Iran's national rights, including the right to peaceful use of nuclear energy and effective sanctions relief, is unacceptable. He also urged the U.S. to consider Iran's proposal seriously, as accepting it would serve the country's interests.
The two countries have been at odds over the level of uranium enrichment. Baghaei has stated that enrichment is a strategic necessity for Iran’s nuclear industry and not open to negotiation.
