Iranian President Pezeshkian Affirms Iran’s Right to Peaceful Nuclear Technology and Rejects Nuclear Weapons Ambitions

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared Iran’s entitlement to utilize peaceful nuclear technology for critical sectors such as health, agriculture, and industry, while firmly rejecting any pursuit or belief in nuclear weapons.

Iran (IMNA) - Speaking at the Tehran Dialogue Forum (TDF), he emphasized that Iran’s religious principles prohibit the development of nuclear arms, which he described as destructive and brutal for humanity’s future.

Addressing persistent Western accusations, Pezeshkian dismissed claims that Iran is seeking nuclear weapons as baseless and warmongering. He invited verification by saying, “We have nothing to hide. We are neither pursuing nor believe in building nuclear weapons.” He underscored Iran’s right to advance science and technology to improve the nation’s quality of life rather than for weaponization.

Pezeshkian also condemned the Israeli regime’s indiscriminate killing of Palestinian civilians, urging Muslims to confront such inhumanity and warning that silence in the face of oppression questions one’s commitment to Islam and humanity. He concluded by asserting that free peoples, including Iranians, reject coercion and threats, affirming that free nations will never bow to force.

The Tehran Dialogue Forum, themed "Dialogues for Regional and International Consensus and Integration," hosts 200 delegations from 53 countries and UN representatives, discussing issues such as sanctions relief, Middle East disarmament, and nuclear weapons concerns.

Additionally, Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s steadfast commitment to its peaceful nuclear program despite international pressures and sanctions, stating that Iran will never abandon its nuclear activities for peaceful purposes. He highlighted that Iran’s adherence to the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA) depends on other parties fulfilling their commitments. He also defended Iran’s missile program as a legitimate defense capability.

In ongoing US-Iran nuclear talks facilitated by Oman, Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s readiness to prove its peaceful nuclear intentions and criticized harsh rhetoric from Washington as unhelpful, emphasizing dialogue as a path to peace and regional stability.
