Iran (IMNA) - Quintero highlighted Venezuela's strong interest in working with Iranian researchers across various scientific fields. He revealed that in 2024, Venezuela dispatched a team of eight specialists to Iran for training and educational exchanges. These efforts have already borne fruit, with Venezuelan researchers currently engaged in joint projects with their Iranian counterparts that are delivering tangible results.
One notable outcome of this partnership is the development and production of a probiotic product in Venezuela, a direct result of collaborative research with Iranian scientists.
High-level talks have further cemented this growing relationship. Iranian Minister of Defense Brigadier General Nasirzadeh recently met with Venezuela's Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jimenez, in Caracas. Their discussions focused on expanding cooperation in science and technology, transferring technical expertise, and facilitating exchanges of university students and lecturers. The talks also covered advanced fields such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, and geosciences, including geological and cartographical research.
This push for greater scientific interaction is part of a broader strategy by both nations to leverage their respective strengths in research and innovation, despite facing international pressures and sanctions. The collaboration aims to not only advance technological capabilities but also foster mutual benefit and resilience in the face of external challenges.
