Iran Rejects French Claim on Nuclear Weapons as "Absurd and Baseless"

The spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry has categorically dismissed French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot's assertion that Iran is on the "cusp of developing" a nuclear weapon, labeling the claim as entirely absurd and baseless.

Iran (IMNA) - Esmaeil Baghaei, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, stated on X: “French Foreign Minister’s claim that Iran is on the ‘cusp of developing’ a nuclear weapon is simply absurd.”

Baghaei further commented that this false statement, together with the French Minister’s open threats to reimpose sanctions, only strengthens the suspicion that France’s persistent stance may evolve into a spoiling role. He added that such actions would not enhance France’s credibility or its standing in Europe and globally.
