Iran’s Defense Minister Accuses Israel of State Terrorism, Praises Zimbabwe’s Anti-Colonial Legacy

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier-General Aziz Nasirzadeh has condemned Israel for what he described as “brutal killings” of Palestinians and Lebanese people, criticizing the silence of international organizations on the matter.

Iran (IMNA) - Speaking in Tehran on Monday during a meeting with Zimbabwean Defense Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, Nasirzadeh asserted that Israel has become a symbol of state terrorism.

Nasirzadeh commended Zimbabwe for its “historic struggle against colonialism, racism, and apartheid,” stating that the country’s efforts have earned it a distinguished place in Africa and the wider international community. He emphasized that Africa holds a special position in Iran’s foreign policy, a stance he said is rooted in the principles of the Islamic Revolution, which supports independent states and the efforts of African nations to end the dominance of hegemonic powers.

During the meeting, Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri offered condolences over a recent tragic explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port in southern Iran. She noted that relations between Iran and Zimbabwe entered a new chapter following the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
