Iran Warns of Halting Cooperation with IAEA Amid External Threats

Ali Shamkhani, a senior advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has warned that continued external threats and the possibility of military aggression against Iran could lead to significant measures, including the expulsion of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors and the suspension of cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog.

Iran (IMNA) - Shamkhani made the remarks on Thursday via his X account, highlighting that transferring enriched nuclear materials to secure and undisclosed locations within Iran might also be considered.

This statement comes amidst heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, as U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated threats of military action should Tehran refuse to agree to a new nuclear deal. Diplomatic discussions between Iran and U.S. officials are set to begin in Oman on Saturday, though Iran insists these talks will proceed indirectly through Oman's foreign minister.

Iranian officials have consistently warned that any attack on the country will be met with swift and decisive retaliation.
