Iran's President: "Negotiation, Yes—But Not at Any Cost"

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that Tehran remains committed to negotiations but will not engage "at any expense," underscoring his administration's balanced approach to diplomacy.

Iran (IMNA) - Speaking on Monday during a meeting with representatives of political parties and associations, Pezeshkian clarified Iran’s stance on international engagement.

"We believe in negotiation, but we will not negotiate at any cost," he stated. He reiterated that Iran seeks dialogue, not conflict, saying, "We are not looking for war, tension, or nuclear bombs; we are looking for negotiations."

The president also called on the United States to demonstrate sincerity in its willingness to negotiate. Highlighting Iran’s peaceful intentions regarding its nuclear program, Pezeshkian referenced a religious fatwa issued by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution prohibiting the development of nuclear weapons.

"We believe in negotiation, but not in humiliation," he stressed, signaling a firm yet open posture in Iran's foreign policy.
