Iran Criticizes Western Meddling in Human Rights Council

Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, has criticized Western countries for their meddling approach, which he believes abuses the mechanisms of the Human Rights Council (HRC).

Iran (IMNA) - During an interactive dialogue session with the Special Rapporteur and the Fact-Finding Mission on Iran, Bahreini strongly condemned the countries that have provided the basis for examining the human rights situation in Iran.

He emphasized that Western countries seek to politicize human rights against Iran by ignoring fundamental human rights issues, including the Palestinian crisis. Bahreini noted that this approach becomes particularly offensive when considering that key actors, such as Germany and the U.K., have their own dark histories of human rights violations. Over the past 19 months, while Israel's crimes against the Palestinian people have escalated, these two countries have not only failed to intervene but have also provided financial, military, and political support to Israel, making them complicit in its actions and accountable before the conscience of humanity.
