Iran Conducts Thorough Review of Trump's Letter Amid Nuclear Tensions

Iran's Foreign Ministry has confirmed that it is conducting a thorough assessment of a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump, which was delivered by Anwar Gargash, a diplomatic adviser to the UAE's president.

Iran (IMNA) - The letter, aimed at reviving nuclear talks, was received on Wednesday, and a decision on how to respond will be made after a comprehensive evaluation, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqayi.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced the receipt of the letter on his Instagram page, stating that it was handed over during a meeting with Gargash at the Iranian Foreign Ministry in Tehran. The meeting also covered bilateral and regional issues.

Trump initially revealed the letter's existence on March 7 in an interview with Fox Business, where he expressed a desire to reopen nuclear negotiations with Iran. However, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has reiterated that Iran will not engage in talks with the U.S., citing past experiences and skepticism about the U.S.'s commitment to any agreement.

The situation comes amid heightened tensions over Iran's nuclear program, with international concerns about its uranium enrichment activities. Despite Trump's offer for dialogue, Iran remains cautious due to ongoing U.S. sanctions and past breaches of agreements, such as the U.S. withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal.
