Qatari Emir's Tehran Visit Prioritizes Neighborly Ties

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, arrived in Tehran on Wednesday for an official visit, seeking to strengthen relations between Qatar and Iran.

Iran (IMNA) - The visit included a formal reception by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at the presidential compound. The leaders held a joint press conference and Sheikh Tamim also met with Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. During the meeting with the Qatari Emir, Ayatollah Khamenei stated that expanding ties with neighboring states is Iran's "definitive policy".

Following the high-level meetings, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated, "Always a pleasure to host our Qatari brothers Amir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. " Araghchi highlighted the "fruitful exchanges on bilateral relations and regional issues," reiterating, "Our neighbors are our priority".

According to local Iranian media, Sheikh Tamim’s visit aims to enhance bilateral relations between Tehran and Doha across various sectors.
