Iran, Azerbaijan Strengthen Ties Amid Strategic Discussions

Iran's First Vice President, Mohammad Reza Aref, met with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov in Tehran, emphasizing the strategic importance of Azerbaijan in Iran's foreign policy.

Iran (IMNA) - During their meeting at the Sa’dabad Cultural-Historical Complex, Aref highlighted the deep historical and cultural connections between the two nations, stating that Azerbaijan is pivotal not only due to its geographical proximity but also because of their longstanding ties.

Asadov's visit coincided with the Third Caspian Economic Forum, where Aref expressed hope that the discussions would enhance multilateral cooperation among Caspian Sea nations and strengthen bilateral relations. He reiterated Iran's commitment to fostering strong ties with its neighbors and emphasized ongoing efforts to deepen collaboration across various sectors.

Aref pointed out that initiatives to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan have intensified since the presidency of Masoud Pezeshkian, assuring that external factors would not disrupt the enduring bond between the two countries. In response, Asadov praised Iran's hospitality and reaffirmed Azerbaijan's dedication to enhancing bilateral relations, highlighting the vast opportunities for collaboration that could benefit both nations.
