Iran to Launch Navak Satellite, Advancing Towards Geosynchronous Orbit

Iran is preparing to launch its "Navak" communications satellite, weighing approximately 34 kg, marking a significant advancement in the nation's space industry and its pursuit of geosynchronous orbit.

Iran (IMNA) - The launch, utilizing an upgraded Simorgh rocket, is a key mission to enhance the country’s communication strategy. Developed by the Iranian Space Research Center, the Navak satellite is designed on a platform ranging from 20 to 50 kg.

Its primary mission is to test the functionality of the optimized Simorgh launch vehicle, which will soon launch the satellite into an elliptical orbit. The satellite, with dimensions of 40x40x60 cm, is equipped with a dosimeter payload for measuring space radiation, a magnetometer for detecting Earth’s magnetic field, and torque actuators for attitude control.
