Iran (IMNA) - In a meeting with Iran’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Sattar Hashemi, discussions focused on collaborative efforts particularly in communications and data transit.
Hashemi highlighted the potential for cooperation in data transit routes from Iran to Saudi Arabia and onward to the Mediterranean Sea and Africa, as well as from Saudi Arabia to Iran and then to Afghanistan, Central Asia, China, and the Caucasus region. He emphasized that this area is a priority for both nations.
Additionally, they discussed the development of communication infrastructures, cybersecurity, platform security, and e-government initiatives as key areas for collaboration. Hashemi expressed Iran's readiness to share its technical expertise with Saudi Arabia in these domains.
Ambassador Al-Anzi echoed the sentiment, stressing the significance of developing relations between the two countries across all sectors. He affirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to fostering strong ties with Iran, particularly in ICT.
