Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi Meets Taliban Officials in Kabul

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Taliban officials in Kabul on Sunday morning, marking his first visit to Afghanistan since assuming his role.

Iran (IMNA) - The meeting included discussions with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban's acting foreign minister.

During the meeting, Muttaqi welcomed the Iranian delegation and expressed hope that the encounter would enhance bilateral relations. He noted, "Iran and Afghanistan are two neighboring Muslim countries and always share each other's sorrows and joys."

Araghchi emphasized that economic, commercial, and political ties between the two nations are currently at a good level. He expressed optimism about further improving these relations during his visit, stating, "I hope that more economic relations will be established between Iran and Afghanistan and these good cultural relations and these fraternal relations will become stronger every day and that the two nations will benefit from them."

Araghchi was accompanied by a team of economic activists, underscoring the focus on strengthening economic cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan. The visit is seen as a significant step in bolstering ties between the two countries.
