IRGC Navy Launches Naval Exercises in Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy commenced naval exercises on Friday in the Persian Gulf and the strategic Strait of Hormuz, as part of a broader series of military operations across Iran.

Iran (IMNA) - Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, the commander of the IRGC Navy, announced that the drills would take place in three maritime areas within the central and northern Persian Gulf.

In an interview with national Iranian television, Admiral Tangsiri emphasized that this exercise serves as a demonstration of strength, representing only a fraction of the IRGC Navy's capabilities. He stated, "This show of strength of the forces participating in this exercise is a very small portion of the capabilities of the IRGC Navy."

The exercises are intended to convey a message of peace and friendship to neighboring countries while showcasing the readiness of Iran's naval forces to respond to potential aggression from external forces. Tangsiri asserted, "This exercise demonstrates our ability to establish security in the region."

Moreover, he highlighted that new equipment would be utilized during the drills, including speedboats, land-to-sea missiles, and surface-to-surface missiles, enhancing the combat effectiveness of the IRGC Navy.
