Iran Commemorates Martyrs of Service Day for Late President Ebrahim Raeisi

President Masoud Pezhakian has officially registered May 19 as "Martyrs of Service Day" in the Iranian calendar, honoring the memory of late President Ebrahim Raeisi and his companions.

This resolution, approved by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution (SCCR), was forwarded on Monday and recognizes the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Raeisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and several senior officials on May 19, 2024.

The helicopter incident occurred in East Azerbaijan province due to severe weather conditions, resulting in the loss of prominent figures including East Azarbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati and Tabriz Friday Prayers leader Mohammad Ali Al-e Hashem. The establishment of this national day serves to remember their contributions and sacrifices for the nation.
