Iran (IMNA) - This announcement was made by Diana Kovala, a member of the council, during an interview with TASS news agency on Sunday.
Kovala explained that the idea for this educational trip originated in 2024, while Russia was holding the presidency of BRICS. "We have visited India as a mission and in 2025; we plan to visit several other countries such as Iran, UAE, and Egypt," she stated. She further emphasized the necessity of these visits, citing the BRICS statement made in Kazan, which called for educational outreach to member countries.
The project manager highlighted the success of their recent educational trip to India, noting that one of the primary goals is to inform the youth of member countries about BRICS principles and values. Established in 2023 during the IX BRICS Youth Summit in South Africa, the BRICS Youth Council aims to foster cooperation among young leaders from its member nations.
Currently, Russia holds the rotating presidency of BRICS, which also includes Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Iran, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. The 16th BRICS Summit took place in November 2024 in Kazan, attended by leaders from these nations, including Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian. Notably, Iran along with Egypt, Ethiopia, and the UAE joined the bloc in early 2024.
