Pezeshkian Stresses Importance of Syria's Territorial Integrity in Meeting with Erdogan

During a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the 11th D-8 summit, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that any developments in Syria must prioritize the protection of the country's territorial integrity.

Iran (IMNA) - He stated that even the slightest damage to Syria's territorial integrity is unacceptable.

Pezeshkian also called for an immediate halt to the aggression of the Zionist regime in the region, highlighting the responsibility of all Islamic nations to confront such actions. He asserted that had there been unity among Islamic countries, the Zionist regime would not have dared to commit its recent acts of aggression.

Further discussing bilateral relations, Pezeshkian noted the positive interactions between Iran and Turkey, referencing a recent meeting of their joint economic cooperation commission. He expressed Iran's readiness to host the upcoming Supreme Council of Strategic Relations meeting, stating, "We are waiting for the implementation of the agreements and the realization of the ceilings set for exchanges between Iran and Türkiye."
