Iran (IMNA) - During their discussions, both leaders expressed optimism about the continuation of recent positive measures aimed at restoring full diplomatic ties.

Pezeshkian praised Egypt's excellent hosting of the summit and emphasized the importance of collaboration among Islamic countries through regional mechanisms like the D-8 and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He highlighted that fostering unity among Islamic nations is crucial, stating, "All Islamic countries must make their utmost efforts to expand their interaction and relations and overcome their differences because these differences lay the ground for foreign interventions" .

This meeting is particularly noteworthy as it represents the first visit by an Iranian president to Egypt in over a decade, with previous diplomatic interactions being limited since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
