Turkey Pledges Unwavering Support for Palestinians Amid Gaza Conflict

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people until the conflict in Gaza is resolved.

Iran (IMNA) - Speaking after a cabinet meeting, Erdogan stated, "We will support our brothers and sisters with all our might and means until the genocide is ended and Gaza and Palestine are completely liberated," as reported by TRT Haber.

Erdogan emphasized Turkey's backing of Palestine at all international forums, expressing concern over the actions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He remarked, "In these trying times, we are trying to fulfill our brotherly duty to the Palestinian people, Palestine’s oppressed population," highlighting the tightening grip around Netanyahu and his associates. The Turkish leader referred to the recent arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant as a significant step in addressing their alleged crimes against humanity during the ongoing conflict.

The International Criminal Court accused Netanyahu and Gallant of employing "starvation as a method of warfare" by restricting humanitarian aid and intentionally targeting civilians in Gaza. This conflict escalated on October 7 when Israel launched a military operation in response to an unprecedented attack by Hamas, which was characterized as retaliation for Israel's intensified actions against Palestinians. Since then, Israel has imposed a complete siege on Gaza, cutting off essential supplies such as fuel, electricity, food, and water to over two million residents.
