Iran and Azerbaijan Launch Joint Military Exercise to Strengthen Regional Security

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces and the Azerbaijan Republic’s Army commenced a four-day joint military exercise named the “Aras Joint Exercise” in northwest Iran.

Iran (IMNA) - The drill began earlier today, as announced by the IRGC in a statement released on Sunday night.

Conducted in the Aslan Duz district of Ardabil Province, the exercise involves special forces from both nations. The IRGC stated that the primary objectives of the drill include enhancing cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan in combating illegal armed groups, securing joint borders, and improving military capabilities.

The joint exercise aims to bolster defense collaboration at both tactical and operational levels, aligning with previously established agreements that reflect the mutual interests of these neighboring countries.
