Iran (IMNA) - AEOI spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi stated that the organization began its remedial measures immediately after the resolution was adopted, which criticized Iran for its lack of cooperation with the agency.
On November 21, the IAEA's Board of Governors voted 19 to 3, with 12 abstentions, in favor of the resolution proposed by the UK, France, and Germany (E3). The resolution accused Iran of insufficient transparency regarding its nuclear activities and called for compliance with international obligations. In a televised interview on November 22, Kamalvandi emphasized that Iran would significantly enhance its enrichment capacity and accelerate industrial research and development in response to the IAEA's actions.
Kamalvandi noted that both the Iranian President and the AEOI chief issued orders to initiate this process immediately after the resolution was passed. He asserted that soon, the IAEA would report on Iran's increased nuclear capabilities resulting from these measures.
The AEOI condemned the IAEA resolution as politically motivated and counterproductive, stating that it undermined recent diplomatic efforts. Kamalvandi reiterated that while Iran seeks constructive engagement, it is prepared to respond decisively if pressured by the IAEA.
