Iran's Foreign Minister Criticizes EU's Approach as Unjustified

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has condemned the European Union's stance towards Iran, asserting that there is "no legal, logical, or moral basis" for its actions.

Iran (IMNA) - In a post on X, the social media platform, Araghchi expressed his frustration over the EU's continued targeting of Iranian airlines and shipping lines under the pretext of nonexistent missile deliveries to Russia.

Araghchi pointed out that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that no Iranian ballistic missiles have been sent to Russia. Despite this, he noted that the EU persists in its punitive measures against Iranian air travel. "Now, the EU is using the same non-existent missile pretext to also target our shipping lines," he stated.

He emphasized that such actions lack justification and warned that they could ultimately lead to unintended consequences. "Freedom of navigation is a basic principle of the law of the sea. When selectively applied by some, such shortsightedness usually tends to boomerang," he added.
