AI Emerges as a Vital Tool for Environmental Protection, Sustainability in Iran

In today's fast expanding technology world, Artificial Intelligence is the trendiest issue. Artificial intelligence is a rapidly evolving technology that is altering several sectors, including environmental conservation.

Iran (IMNA) -With its capacity to increase efficiency, AI emerges as a critical instrument for solving environmental concerns and leading us toward a more sustainable future. AI helps conserve biodiversity by analyzing data on species populations, habitats, and threats. However, appropriate and ethical application is crucial to avoid possible hazards and problems.

At an crucial moment for the environment, artificial intelligence (AI) arises as a strong tool in the battle for environmental protection. AI provides revolutionary methods for monitoring, protecting, and restoring the planet's natural resources due to its unique skills in data analysis, machine learning, and pattern identification.

Tracking the condition of forests, seas, various ecosystems, and Identifying species in danger are some of the benefits of using AI in environmental sector.

Taking advantage of sensors and the Internet of Things (IoT) to collect real-time information about temperature, water quality, air pollution will help detect and mitigate natural calamities like floods and wildfires.

also determining priority sites for reforestation and restoration and choosing the most appropriate kind of tree for each site and keeping track of how the restored woods are growing are the other good impacts of having AI in hand.

Iran's Department of Environment Uses Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Protection of Natural Areas

A DOE official named Alireza Najimi stated, "Around 25% of the areas are currently being monitored using standard visual systems, but in the future, we will upgrade the systems by using artificial intelligence."

To bring the total number of protected areas to 19.5 million hectares, five new protected areas totaling 230,000 hectares have been established nationwide. According to IRNA, 11.8 percent of the nation's lands are currently protected areas governed by the Department of Environment.

When the plan to create two national parks and fifteen protected areas as Iran's first protected sites was authorized in 1967, the country's first protected areas history began. There were over 65 protected areas in the nation in 1976, totaling 6.7 million hectares; today, there are over 300 places, totaling 19.5 million hectares.

With a total size of almost 63,000 hectares, the first new protected area is situated in Gavkhoni Wetland. Its objectives are to prohibit any changes in land use, preserve the vegetation, and conserve the wetland and its birds, who are present at specific periods when the wetland is filled with water.

The second location is Kalate and Tang-e Sorkh in the province of Fars, which spans over 11,000 hectares. The objective is to protect the area's pristine animals and varied plants. Hunting is one of the forbidden activities.

The third additional region is Padena, which is located in the city of Semirom in the province of Isfahan and spans 30,000 hectares. Given the movement of species between these two places, it can improve the conservation of Dena National Park, one of the most significant protected areas in the Zagros.

It is simple to restore animals when there is a lot of vegetation and water available. Previously, this region was one of the free zones. The following region is in the Kalate desert, which is around 126,000 hectares in size and is east of Isfahan, between Khur and Biabanak. Valuable species including rams, ewes, gazellas, and bustards may be found there.

The final 200 hectares are in the province of Ardabil and are known as "Sheikh Mohammadlu," a national natural monument. A variety of fossil trees from previous geological eras may be found there.

Development of Green Solutions: Make biomaterials and other environmentally friendly goods from renewable resources. Create sustainable agriculture technology to lessen the environmental effect. Encourage conscientious consumerism and the circular economy.
