Iran Seeks Private and Foreign Investment in Infrastructure Development

President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized the importance of attracting private sector and foreign investment for Iran's infrastructure projects, particularly in the nation's ports.

Iran (IMNA) - During a meeting with economic officials from the Road Ministry, Pezeshkian reviewed the current status of Iran's transportation infrastructure and regional corridors.

Road Minister Farzaneh Sadegh highlighted ongoing discussions with Russian officials and provided updates on agreements concerning transportation infrastructure and regional collaboration. Following these reports, President Pezeshkian underscored the urgency of accelerating the implementation of the border corridor with Azerbaijan and finalizing the International North-South Corridor, stating, "Considering the importance of these regional corridors, they should be completed as soon as possible."

Additionally, Pezeshkian referenced recent agreements made during his visit to Iraq to expedite the completion of the Shalamcheh-Basra railroad, stressing its significance for both Iran and Iraq. He noted that Iraqi officials are also keen on speeding up this project, urging efforts to eliminate obstacles hindering its completion.
