Iran (IMNA) - In a letter to the UN Conference on Disarmament, Bahreini emphasized that Iran will defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity as permitted under international law, particularly in light of Israel's recent military actions targeting Iranian interests.
Bahreini outlined a series of Israeli provocations, including an attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus and the assassination of former Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh during his visit to Iran. He characterized these actions as gross violations of international law and reaffirmed Iran's right to protect its citizens and national security under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
Referencing Operations True-Promise I and II, Bahreini stated that after a period of restraint amid the Security Council's inaction regarding Israel's aggressions, Iran conducted precise military operations against Israeli targets. He urged members of the UN Disarmament Conference and the broader international community to condemn these attacks and take decisive action to hold Israel accountable for its violations.
Bahreini concluded by stressing the necessity for a strong international stance against Israel's actions, which he described as criminal and in violation of fundamental principles of international law.
