Iran and Russia Set to Sign Comprehensive Cooperation Agreements

Iran’s Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, announced that comprehensive agreements for long-term cooperation between Iran and Russia are on the verge of being signed.

Iran (IMNA) - In an interview with IRNA on Thursday, during the BRICS summit in Kazan, Jalali revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin has formally invited Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Russia for this purpose.

Jalali indicated that President Pezeshkian has tasked him with preparing several bilateral agreements for signing, which include contracts related to gas and the North-South Corridor. He emphasized that the comprehensive agreement is ready for signature and expressed optimism about coordinating with the President’s Office to finalize additional agreements ahead of Pezeshkian’s upcoming official visit to Russia in the coming months.

When asked if the North-South Corridor agreement includes new topics, Jalali clarified that it aligns with previous cooperation documents and involves the construction of an extensive railway line already planned by both nations.
