Iran Warns U.S. Following Missile Attack on Israeli Targets

Iran has issued a warning to the United States through the Swiss embassy in Tehran, following a significant missile attack on Israeli-occupied territories.

Iran (IMNA) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed on Wednesday that the warning was conveyed late Tuesday night, shortly after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a barrage of homegrown missiles in retaliation for the recent assassinations of key resistance leaders, including Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

The IRGC reported that approximately 90% of the missiles successfully hit their targets during this operation. Araghchi emphasized that any further actions by Israel or its allies would elicit a stronger response from Iran. When asked if Iran had informed the U.S. prior to the missile launch, he stated, "No, I do not confirm," clarifying that while messages were not exchanged, it was essential to communicate warnings to all parties after the attack.

In his statement, Araghchi reiterated that Iran's military actions were in line with Article 51 of the UN Charter, asserting their right to self-defense. He cautioned the U.S. against interference, warning that such actions would provoke a tough response from Iran.

The Iranian Foreign Minister noted that the warning message was precisely delivered to the Swiss embassy for transmission to U.S. officials, emphasizing that Iran does not intend to escalate tensions unless provoked further.
