Iran (IMNA) - Speaking during a cabinet meeting, he highlighted the regime's aggression in Yemen and other regional countries, emphasizing the urgent need to halt its actions.
Pezeshkian condemned the recent assassination of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, asserting that it exemplifies the criminal nature of the Israeli regime, which disregards international standards and frameworks. He criticized the claims made by U.S. and European leaders, who promised a ceasefire in exchange for Iran's non-response to the assassination of martyr Ismail Haniyeh, labeling them as lies. "Giving such criminals a chance will only embolden them to commit more crimes," he warned.
The president reiterated Iran's call for Islamic countries to remain vigilant and not abandon Lebanese combatants in their struggle. He cautioned that the aggressive regime would continue to target nations within the Axis of Resistance, leading to further violence against innocent civilians.
Pezeshkian underscored that while the killing of leaders of emancipatory movements like Hezbollah is significant, their positions will quickly be filled by their comrades. He stressed the necessity of responding to the crimes of the Zionist regime and announced the Iranian health ministry's readiness to assist Lebanese victims injured in recent airstrikes.
The president's comments come amid escalating tensions in the region following Israel's continued military operations against Hezbollah and other resistance groups.
