Iran Successfully Launches Chamran 1 Satellite into Orbit

Iran has successfully launched its indigenous Chamran 1 research satellite into space using the Qaem 100 satellite carrier.

Iran (IMNA) _ The launch occurred moments ago, placing the satellite in a 550-kilometer orbit.

Weighing approximately 60 kilograms, the primary mission of the Chamran 1 satellite is to test hardware and software systems to validate orbital maneuver technology in height and phase. The Qaem 100 satellite carrier, designed and built by aerospace experts from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), completed the operation successfully.

Following the launch, ground stations reported receiving the first signals from the Chamran 1 satellite. This satellite has been developed by various Iranian companies and industrial groups, and its mission also includes evaluating cold gas propulsion subsystems and assessing navigation and situation control subsystems.

Despite facing restrictions from Western-imposed sanctions, Iran has continued to advance its space program in recent years.
