Iran Denounces EU Accusations of Missile Supply to Russia Amid Sanctions Threat

Iran has strongly condemned the European Union's recent accusations of its involvement in the Ukraine conflict, particularly regarding claims of supplying ballistic missiles to Russia. Nasser Kan'ani, the spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, emphasized that these allegations are unfounded and reiterated Iran's commitment to respond to the sanctions imposed by Western nations.

Iran (IMNA) - In remarks made on Friday night, Kan'ani stated, "Any claim that Iran sells ballistic missiles to Russia is false." He advised the European Union to refrain from making accusations based on misleading information. The EU's statement, which accused Iran of interfering in the Ukraine war, has been met with Iran's assertion that such sanctions are part of a broader pattern of economic aggression against the country.

Kan'ani characterized the sanctions imposed by Britain, France, and Germany as "economic terrorism," asserting that these actions will provoke a suitable response from Iran. He noted that the reliance of some Western countries on sanctions is counterproductive and exacerbates existing problems rather than resolving them.

The escalating tensions come as the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken claimed that Russia had received shipments of ballistic missiles from Iran, which could be deployed in Ukraine imminently. Kan'ani's statements reflect Iran's ongoing denial of any military support to Russia in the conflict, framing the allegations as a diversion from Western arms support in other global conflicts.

As the situation develops, Iran maintains its stance against what it perceives as unjust sanctions and false accusations from Western powers.
