Iran (IMNA) - This significant diplomatic engagement aims to enhance strategic relations between the two neighboring countries, according to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The visit comes at the official invitation of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, and Pezeshkian is scheduled to meet with several high-ranking Iraqi officials, including President Abdul Latif Rashid and Parliament Speaker Mohsen Al-Mandalawi.
In addition to discussions with Iraqi authorities, Pezeshkian will engage with Iranian businesspersons residing in Iraq. His itinerary also includes a trip to Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, where he will hold talks with regional head Nechirvan Barzani, followed by a visit to Sulaymaniyeh, another major Kurdish city in northern Iraq.
Araghchi expressed optimism that this visit would usher in a new phase of cooperation between Iran and Iraq, reflecting the importance of their bilateral relationship in the context of regional dynamics.
