Iran Accuses West of Concealing Complicity in Israeli Crimes Through Arms Supply Claims

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan’ani stated that Western countries are attempting to conceal their complicity in Israeli crimes by accusing Iran of supplying arms to Russia. In a post on his X account, Kan’ani criticized the U.S. government's ongoing arms support for Israel, despite claims of seeking peace in the West Asian region.

Iran (IMNA) - “Despite the claims on seeking peace and verbal opposition of American officials to the escalation of tensions in the West Asian region, the U.S. government's arms support of the Zionist regime's war crimes in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in the occupied territories has continued uninterruptedly and widely,” Kan’ani wrote.

He highlighted the arrival of the 500th American plane carrying lethal weapons to Israel, indicating that military aid has increased to 50,000 tons. Kan’ani noted that this surge in arms coincides with the rising death toll from Israeli actions in Gaza, which has reached 41,000, with approximately 70% of the victims being innocent children and women.

According to Kan’ani, the Zionist regime has dropped an average of 36 kilograms of bombs and rockets on every Palestinian in Gaza, a record of cruelty he described as unprecedented compared to the most brutal regimes in history. He emphasized that the continued supply of weapons to Israel by the U.S. and some Western countries contradicts international obligations to prevent and punish genocide, as outlined in the Genocide Convention of 1948.

Kan’ani dismissed claims regarding the transfer of Iranian weapons to other countries as mere propaganda aimed at obscuring the extent of illegal arms support provided by the U.S. and its allies for the Israeli actions in Gaza. He urged the international community not to be distracted from their responsibility to halt the Zionist regime's war crimes and hold its supporters accountable.
