Iran (IMNA) - Speaking in the northern Iranian province of Mazandaran on Thursday, Eslami stated, “The entire policy led by the imperialist system rests on using threats and supporting aggressive attitudes.”
Eslami emphasized that sanctions are used to "cripple a nation, bring it to its knees, and neutralize it so they can achieve apparent victory." He noted that the United States and its allies have imposed extensive sanctions on Iran, accusing the country of diverting its nuclear energy program toward military purposes—a claim that Iran has consistently denied, asserting its commitment to moral and religious standards against acquiring nuclear weapons.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has conducted inspections that confirm the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities. Although some sanctions were lifted following the 2015 nuclear agreement, the U.S. reinstated these bans three years later after unilaterally withdrawing from the deal.
Eslami criticized the U.S. for waging an economic war against Iran, aimed at devaluing the Iranian currency and exerting pressure on its people. He stated, “[Through these measures,] the United States seeks to say that its dominance is mandatory and that it rules the world.”
He urged the Iranian nation to remain vigilant and follow the guidance of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to mitigate vulnerability to external pressures and influence from adversaries.
