Iran and Oman Strengthen Ties, Foreign Ministers Pledge Close Cooperation

The relationship between Iran and Oman is expanding in all dimensions, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on Tuesday. The remarks came after a phone conversation with his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, on Monday night.

Iran (IMNA) - During the call, Al Busaidi congratulated Araghchi on his new role and wished him success in his mission. The Omani foreign minister also expressed his country's readiness to cooperate closely with Iran to implement agreements between the two nations.

Al Busaidi emphasized that Oman supports the continuation of political consultations between Iran and Oman, and pointed to the Sultan of Oman's special attention to strengthening ties between the two countries.

Araghchi thanked his Omani counterpart and expressed his own readiness for close cooperation and interaction with Al Busaidi on issues of common interest in bilateral, regional, and international fields.

The Iranian foreign minister also emphasized that the expansion of relations between Tehran and Muscat will help to solve existing problems. He noted that the continuation of consultations and cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including regional issues, will help to secure common interests.

The phone conversation between the two foreign ministers is seen as a significant step in strengthening ties between Iran and Oman, and comes at a time of growing regional cooperation between Gulf states.
