He highlighted the importance of expanding Iran's diplomatic reach to Africa and East Asia, as well as strengthening ties with countries that have supported Iran in difficult times.

In a phone call with the European Union's foreign policy chief, Araghchi also discussed negotiations to lift sanctions against Iran. The foreign minister emphasized that Iran is willing to manage tensions with the United States and restore relations with European countries, but only if they abandon their "hostile approach" and work towards reviving the 2015 nuclear deal.
