Iran (IMNA) - In a series of posts on social media, Bagheri Kani criticized Israel's recent acts of aggression, including the killing of over 100 Palestinians in Gaza, and urged Muslim countries to take collective action to end the violence.
Bagheri Kani also lashed out at Western governments for their "reprehensible" double standards, saying that they would condemn such atrocities committed by any other party, but instead turn a blind eye to Israel's actions. The Iranian official pointed to the recent targeting of Hamas' political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran, which Israel has denied responsibility for, and vowed to take harsh action against those responsible.
The acting foreign minister emphasized Iran's commitment to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and urged Muslim countries to work together to bring an end to the violence in Gaza. Bagheri Kani also praised the regional resistance front's efforts against Israeli aggression and assured them of Iran's continued support for the Palestinian people.
