Iranian president urges west to stop arms sales to Israel, end violence in Gaza

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has called on Western countries, including the US, to immediately stop supplying weapons to Israel if they seek peace and security in the region.

Iran (IMNA) - According to a statement from the Iranian presidency, Pezeshkian received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday, in which Macron expressed concerns about the escalation of violence in the region following the killing of Hamas political leader Haniyeh. Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran would not remain silent in the face of violations against its interests and security, and would reserve the right to respond proportionally to any aggression by Israel.

The Iranian president accused the US and Western countries of supporting Israel's criminal actions, including genocide and terrorism, rather than condemning them. He stressed that Iran has consistently played a crucial role in promoting peace, stability, and security in the region and the world.

Pezeshkian urged Western countries to stop selling arms to Israel and to force the regime to accept a ceasefire. He warned that as long as Israel continues its acts of genocide and terror in Gaza and elsewhere, the region and the world will not witness stability, security, or peace.

The Iranian president also emphasized that Iran has a fundamental principle of avoiding war and promoting global peace and security, but would not remain silent in the face of violations against its interests and security.
